Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 June 2026

Placeholder — review before launch. This is sensible draft copy, not finalised legal advice. It must be reviewed and approved by a qualified solicitor before Housometer goes live.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Housometer ("we", "us", "our") and the website, reports and tools we provide (the "Service"). By creating an account or buying a report you agree to these Terms.

Housometer is operated from the United Kingdom. You can contact us at hello@housometer.com.

2. What the Service is

The Service brings together publicly available and licensed datasets to produce property information and a Home Confidence Score for addresses in England & Wales.

The Service is provided for general information and research purposes only. It is guidance, not advice. It is not a formal valuation, a survey, a structural or legal opinion, or financial advice, and must not be relied upon as such.

You should always confirm anything that matters with a qualified solicitor, surveyor, mortgage adviser or the relevant authority before making a property decision. Data from third-party sources can be incomplete, out of date or contain errors.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate account details and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms or are used unlawfully.

4. Pricing and payment

Single report: a one-off charge of £5 unlocks the full report for one property, which remains accessible in your account.

Unlimited subscription: £15 per month, billed in advance, giving unlimited full reports and the comparison, commute, school and calculator tools for as long as the subscription is active.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Prices include VAT where applicable. We may change prices on notice; changes do not affect a subscription period already paid for.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel the unlimited subscription at any time from your account. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period already paid for. We do not provide partial refunds for unused time unless required by law.

Single reports are covered by a 7-day money-back guarantee: if the data for your property is materially missing or incorrect, contact us at hello@housometer.com within 7 days and we will refund you.

Where you have a statutory right to cancel a digital purchase, note that by accessing a report immediately you may be agreeing to begin the service before the cancellation period ends.

6. Acceptable use

You may use reports for your own personal or internal business property decisions. You must not scrape, resell, redistribute or build a competing product from our data or reports, nor attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, scoring methodology, compiled reports and branding, is owned by Housometer or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. Underlying datasets remain the property of their respective owners and are used under their licences (including the Open Government Licence). We grant you a limited, non-transferable licence to use reports you have unlocked.

8. Liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and are not liable for any loss arising from decisions made in reliance on the Service, including any property purchase decision.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised date, and material changes will be notified to account holders. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
