About Housometer

Know the home before you buy.

Buying a home is the biggest decision most of us ever make — and the side with all the information is the side that’s selling. We built Housometer to put a careful buyer’s due diligence in everyone’s hands.

Our mission

Honest answers, before you fall in love.

We bring together the dozens of official datasets a thorough buyer would check — value, energy, council tax, flood and ground risk, crime, schools, transport and the area around it — and turn them into one clear, readable report.

Most property tools are paid for by the people selling the property. Their job is to make a home look its best. Ours is different: we don’t list homes, we don’t take commission, and no agent can pay to change what a report says.

Independent by design
  • We don’t list properties or represent sellers.
  • We take no commission on any sale.
  • Agents can’t pay to alter or hide a report.
  • Every figure comes from an official source we cite.
